SUMMARY:  LC 44 1825

Would create a Joint Study Committee for Consolidation of County Governments and School Systems with 10 members:

Speaker of the House appoints three Representatives and designates one co-chair

President of the Senate appoints three Senators and designates one co-chair

Executive Director of Georgia Municipal Association or designee appoints one 

Executive Director of Association County Commissioners of Georgia or designee appoints one 

President of Constitutional Officers Association of Georgia appoints two

If the committee adopts any specific findings or recommendations that include suggestions for legislation, the report must be approved by December 1, 2022 at which time the committee will be abolished.
