SUMMARY:  LC 49 0813  LC 49 0917S

Current law requires districts to report all unsatisfactory, ineffective, and needs development ratings on performance evaluations to the Professional Standards Commission.  Two of those ratings in a five year period would prohibit a teacher from renewing their certificate unless showing the deficiency has been addressed.  This bill would delete the "needs development" rating from that statute. It would also eliminate the current provision that prohibits a teacher receiving credit for any year of experience in a year in which he/she received that rating.
