Charles P. Efstration, III ("Chuck") represents House District 104, which includes Dacula,
Lawrenceville, Auburn, Buford, and Hoschton addresses in Gwinnett County. Chuck has served
as a member of the Georgia House of Representatives since December 13, 2013.
Chuck Efstration grew up in Gwinnett County and graduated from Greater Atlanta Christian
School. For his undergraduate studies, Chuck attended the University of Georgia's School of
Public and International Affairs, receiving his bachelor's degree in three years. Efstration also
earned a Juris Doctor degree from Mercer Law School in Macon where he was elected by his
peers to serve as Chief Justice of the Honor Court.
After graduating from law school, Chuck served in law enforcement as a Gwinnett County
Assistant District Attorney. As a felony prosecutor, Efstration conducted trials, assisted in
criminal investigations, served as an instructor at the Gwinnett County Police Academy, and
appeared as a special prosecutor in Gwinnett juvenile and accountability courts.
As a member of the General Assembly, Efstration has successfully carried legislation to protect
the most vulnerable of Georgia's citizens, including- increased in the penalties for criminals
convicted of human trafficking, creating a new criminal offense of "home invasion" legislation
to reform Georgia's early care system, and the "Uniform Adult Guardianship and Protective
Proceedings Jurisdiction Act" to assist caregivers and guardians. Chuck has also worked on
legislation in the areas of criminal justice and education reform.
Chuck is active in the community as a member of the Rotary Club of Gwinnett County and a past
president of both the Gwinnett Republican Party and the Gwinnett Bar Association. In 2016,
Governor Nathan Deal appointed Efstration to serve as a member of the Judicial Nominating
Commission and the Criminal Justice Reform Council. Chuck is a Greek Orthodox Christian
and an Eagle Scout. He is married to Ashley Efstration and they reside near Dacula. |
