| Mr. Diegnan was appointed to the Senate in May 2017 to fill a vacancy. He previously served in the Assembly from 2002-2016, where he held the roles of Deputy Speaker from 2008-2016, and Parliamentarian from 2006-2016.
Mr. Diegnan was admitted to the New Jersey bar in 1974, and has a private law practice in South Plainfield. He is a former instructor of law and accounting at Middlesex County College.
He earned a bachelor's degree in political science from Seton Hall University and a juris doctor from Seton Hall Law School.
The senator is married to Anita Carchia. They have two daughters, Heather and Tara, and four grandchildren- Vanessa, Alexa, Brooke, and Andrew. |
