Bio

My name is Greg Vital and I want to be your new State Senator. The new 10th Senatorial District now includes parts of Bradley and Hamilton Counties. This new district gives us an opportunity to form partnerships with old friends, offer a new vision for our community, and connect the economic growth corridor along I- 75 which is home to Amazon, Volkswagen, Olin Chemical, and Wacker. I'm excited about the opportunity to serve but want to introduce myself to you. As a fiscally conservative businessman with a track record of creating jobs, I am a firm believer in free enterprise and community involvement. I am founder and President of Morning Pointe Assisted Living and Alzheimer's Memory Care with headquarters in Ooltewah. During the last 16 years I have grown my company from 1 employee to now over 800 and know what it means to meet a payroll every week and how to manage a budget. My first job was working 3rd shift at McKee Baking Company while going to college. That first job taught me the importance of hard work and the value of a dollar. I learned even more business lessons during my ten years at Life Care Centers of America in Cleveland. I took those valuable lessons and started my own company. Since 1976 I have worked in local, state, and, national Republican and conservative races. In fact, one of my first volunteer duties was to clean the windows of the Hamilton County Republican headquarters every week during the summer. While in college I served as an intern in the State Senate and that sparked my interest in public service. My wife Carlene and I, and two children, love the outdoors. We spend family time on our working buffalo farm in Georgetown on the Hamilton/Bradley County line. I am proud to be a member of the Tennessee Farm Bureau since 1985. I am particularly proud of my work with the Friends of Moccasin Bend and the preservation of Stringer's Ridge. These projects will be important for future generations and I am honored to have been a part of great groups that are committed to our region's future by preserving our past. My previous public service includes election to a four-year term on the Collegedale City Commission and a six-year appointment to the Erlanger Board of Trustees. Over the years I have worked with Chattanooga State to help train individuals for health care careers. In addition, I also serve on the UTC Chancellor's Roundtable.
