Bio

Rep. Delia Haak, Ed.D., is serving her first term in the Arkansas House of Representatives. She represents District 91 which includes a portion of Benton County. For the 93rd General Assembly, she serves on the House Public Transportation Committee, the House City, County & Local Affairs Committee, and the House Management Committee. Rep. Haak has been a part of the Northwest Arkansas community and has lived in House District 91 for over 40 years, working with others to make this unique District a better place to live, work and play. Rep. Haak is a graduate of the University of Arkansas earning a doctorate in education from the UA College of Education in Fayetteville, an MBA from the Walton College of Business, and a bachelor of science in Business Administration from John Brown University. Rep. Haak served at John Brown University from 1985 to present in a variety of capacities including teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in the College of Business, (where she continues to teach as an adjunct professor in the graduate business programs) to designing and implementing new graduate business programs, to helping to establish nationally recognized student teams in free enterprise, marketing, and business plan competitions. Rep. Haak recently co-edited, Volume II of "By These Stones- A Collection of Faculty Writings" in celebration of JBU's 100 year anniversary. From 2007-2016, Rep. Haak served as Executive Director of the Illinois River Watershed (IRW) Partnership, a local stakeholder-driven organization that encompasses northwest Arkansas and northeast Oklahoma. In 2015, she served as Federal Chair of the Arkansas-Oklahoma Arkansas River Compact Commission as the two states continue to work together in the development and management of water resources of the Arkansas River Basin which includes the IRW. Rep. Haak, and her husband Bill, have been married 43 years. The Haak Family was the Arkansas Farm Family of the Year 2009 and is a research farm in the Discovery Farms Program, University of Arkansas Division of Agriculture.
