Committee Assignments

My name is Betsy Holland, and I am your representative for the Georgia State House of Representatives, District 54. I was elected to office in 2018, and am now serving my third term. During my service in the Georgia General Assembly, I have fought to protect the rights of vulnerable Georgians, to protect women's bodily autonomy, to expand healthcare access, to reduce gun violence, and to expand resources for our public schools and our teachers. I serve on the Higher Education Committee, where I'm keenly interested in making our colleges more affordable and attracting more students to degrees that match our high demand careers in Georgia. This is especially important at our technical colleges. I serve on the Small Business Development Committee, an area close to my heart as I'm married to a small business owner. I also serve on the House Committee on Intragovernmental Coordination and the House Committee on Creative Arts & Entertainment. I chair the House Atlanta Delegation and value building a strong relationship between the City of Atlanta and our state government. I am also a member of the Fulton County Delegation. I live in the Buckhead community with my husband Jason, my son Alex, and our rescue dog, Bader. For more than 25 years, I've worked in the corporate sector focusing on corporate responsibility, philanthropy, corporate culture and nonprofit partnerships. I've served on boards of community and civic organizations, including the Georgia Chamber of Commerce, the Atlanta Community ToolBank and Fugees Family, a nonprofit dedicated to serving child survivors of war. Most Sundays, you'll find me worshipping at Morningside Presbyterian Church, where I lead a women's small group, occasionally teach Sunday school and have been ordained as a deacon. When I find a moment of free time, I enjoy volunteering, cooking, exploring urban hikes with my family, and entertaining at home.
