Staff Analysis of the Legislation

This legislation changes the "commercial wrecker emergency tow permit," which currently allows heavy tow trucks to move disabled, damaged, abandoned or wrecked commercial vehicles, to a "commercial wrecker tow permit." The new permit now allows these large tow trucks to also tow a "replacement" commercial vehicle to the location of the commercial vehicle that is disabled, damaged or wrecked to replace the disabled, damaged or wrecked commercial vehicle. No weight limits are increased. |
