Day 1 – Focuses on broad orientation to the curriculum documents as well as making intentional connections to the Georgia Department of Education Science Ambassador professional development program. • the scientific and engineering practices, • crosscutting concepts, • disciplinary core ideas, • how students learn science; and the • range of instructional strategies. Day 2 – Extends the professional learning experience by connecting the new curriculum with the aim of improving teachers understanding: • student-developed models, • classroom discourse, and • other formative assessment approaches to gauge student thinking.
