This legislation allows victim assistance personnel to be present in the courtroom while a minor is testifying about a sex offense.

This legislation allows victims and witnesses under 18 years of age to testify outside of the physical presence of the defendant in certain situations.

This legislation adopts the Interstate Compact for Juveniles. This compact ensures that court orders relating to juveniles in the State of Georgia are honored in other states that are members of the compact.

This legislation requires child protective agencies to let school officials reporting suspected child abuse know that the report was received within 24 hours of the report.   This legislation was amended to create a three year pilot program to evaluate privatization of child welfare services statewide.  The pilot sites will be established in three of the 15 regions and shall represent a diverse segment of the state.   There is also created a Child Welfare Pilot Program Commission.

This legislation makes changes to the duties of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, the Child Advocate for the Protection of Children, the Georgia Child Fatality Review Panel, county child abuse protocol committees, and county child fatality review committees. The legislation also changes the portions of child abuse and dependency records that may be redacted under the open records law.

This legislation changes the definition of "peace officer" and "law enforcement officer" to include the supervision of delinquent children under intensive supervision in the community. 

This legislation creates a court technology fee to be assessed on criminal fines, ordinance violations and civil filings with the passage of a local resolution. The chief judge will control the fund and appoint members of the technology fund board. This legislation also repeals any local technology fee in place on July 1, 2014.

This legislation requires the Department of Human Services to develop a plan to competitively bid out child welfare services. The plan shall be submitted by January 1, 2015, and would be phased in over a two year period beginning July 1, 2015.
